Hello friends, it has been about a year since my last newsletter, but I've been up to a few different things in the meantime. Brooklyn Hz / 04.https://scarletdeath.bandcamp.comA Note on FormatsWhile I appreciate that some people like to have something to hold in their hand, I don't plan on releasing CD and DVDs very often. I will primarily be making individual Blu-ray Audio discs so that listeners can have a physical copy of the 7.1 PCM 96kHz 24-bit version of individual releases without any extra fuss. It might be a channel fold down, but I figure it would be a more permanent archive that bypasses the need for a subscription service just to access surround sound. It's not like the human ear can really tell much of a difference, but half the point of all this is documenting the specific ways bone conduction and overtones interact. If it's a big LP like the one I'm hoping to have a big album release party for, I might put it on cassette or CD just to have an artifact. I might also just start releasing music in the form of Unreal Engine sound cues on itchio or something. Not entirely sure how I'm going to play this in under a gigabyte.Shame Soiree is what I typically call any sort of community leg of my projects. I am not a "content creator" or some kind of pop idol, I don't have a fan club or some super special VIP Patreon. So I slap this branding on top of anything that lets you subscribe or support me in any meaningful capacity. But it's essentially anything that let0s me throw bonus goodies and exclusives at you on a regular basis. For Bandcamp: I plan on releasing a number of subscriber-only long-form surround sound albums in a series. Calling it "Rites of Shame" boring lil' ritual noise / drone noise / stoner noise stuff I'm making specifically for qualia experiments. Physicals will be released to the public as Blu-ray Audio only because the entire point is to hear it a certain way. If you are a subscriber at the highest tier, I will make you a custom Rites of Shame Blu-ray Audio that's a one-of-one situation with no digital files.
